OUR HISTORY
NorMac Equipment Sales was established in 1989 by Colin MacKay, after dedicating over 30 years to the irrigation industry through his work with RainBird Canada. His deep knowledge of manufacturing and distribution laid the foundation for what would become a trusted name in the irrigation and landscape supply sector.
In 1994, Colin’s son, Rob MacKay, joined the company to expand its presence in Western Canada. Rob brought with him a well-rounded background in the industry, having worked on both the distribution and contracting sides of irrigation. In addition to his irrigation experience, Rob was actively involved in landscape lighting and pond installations, and shared his expertise by teaching seminars on irrigation installation practices.
Together, Colin and Rob combined decades of experience and industry insight to grow NorMac into a respected and reliable partner for Manufacturers, Distributors, and Contractors across Canada.
GROWTH
Under Colin’s leadership, NorMac was built on a foundation of strong customer support, industry knowledge, and a hands-on approach to both sales and service. As the landscape and irrigation markets expanded across Canada, so did NorMac—steadily growing its team and strengthening its presence in key regions. By staying closely connected to the needs of contractors, distributors, and end users, the company earned a reputation for reliability and practical expertise. This commitment to personalized service helped NorMac thrive in a competitive and evolving market. In 2000, after more than a decade of building the business, Colin passed the torch to his son Rob, officially selling NorMac Equipment and stepping into a well-earned retirement—spending his time golfing and enjoying visits with family.

Today, NorMac Equipment remains a proudly Canadian, family-run business with a nationwide reach and a continued commitment to the industries we serve. With decades of experience behind us and a forward-thinking approach, we provide our customers with the products, support, and expertise they need to succeed in an ever-evolving market. Whether it’s landscape lighting, outdoor living or water management solutions, our team is dedicated to delivering practical, hands-on service with the same integrity and professionalism that have defined NorMac since day one. Our Mission
NorMac Equipment has been a Manufacturers’ Agent in Canada, for the Pool / Spa and Landscape markets, since 1989. With offices in both Western and Eastern Canada, we cover the country from coast to coast. Our focus has always been to deliver the best service and support for our customers, with a Canadian perspective.
Our knowledge, professionalism and experience in Canada, allows us to support our customers and their contractors. Whether it be in the Irrigation, Landscape Lighting, Pool/Spa or Landscape markets, NorMac can assist. We call on and work closely with Engineering, Architectural and Municipal groups; with this support we can build relationships that last a lifetime.
